NativityMiguel Coalition to Host Two-Day Professional Development Retreat in St. Louis

Starting Thursday, February 25th, the NativityMiguel Coalition will be hosting a two-day professional development retreat in St. Louis.

The NativityMiguel Coalition is comprised of 44 faith-based schools around the country who are committed to excellence in a mission of educating students from low-income families in underserved communities. Access Academies, a member of the NativityMiguel Coalition, makes a seven-year commitment to each student, beginning in middle school, to support a robust academic curriculum, homework assistance, service projects and enrichment. Access Academies also supports mandatory summer school, and provides a school-based Graduate Support Director, who works directly with each student, and their family, from middle school, through high school, and into college. Since 2005, 600 disadvantaged youth have received a top-quality, values-based education thanks to Access Academies’ unique model of education.

In this session, Graduate Support personnel will explore the intersectionality of race, class, and gender as it applies to NativityMiguel alumni.
