We are excited to recognize Karina G. for our Access Academies Student Spotlight program!
Grade: 8th
Fondest memory: A student at the school since third grade, Karina enjoys just being with her classmates and all the memories they have collected.
Current/Favorite Teacher: Mr. Cox
Favorite Subject: Science. “I don’t know if it because the how Ms. Earley teaches us, but she makes it interesting and I just want to learn it.”
Current Academy Programs: Career & College Clubs (aka the Access curriculum), Mosaics, Study Hall, Global Village, Dance Class, and Lab.
Favorite Academy Program: Printmaking. “I love carving. I thought it was really neat how it did printing with the ink.”
Favorite Field Trip: “I really like visiting SLU and Webster University because it opens our eyes and helps motivate us to go to college. It makes college fun.”
Prospective High School: Notre Dame. “I have friends and family go there and they really like it. When I went to visit they were very welcoming and I liked the environment.”
Career Aspirations: Karina is looking into designing, organizing and decorating houses.
Role Model: Her mom. “She always motivates me to do better and never settle for less. She always says go higher.”
