Access Executive Director Talks Nonprofit Fundraising on St. Louis Public Radio

L to R: Rachel D’Souza Siebert of Gladiator Consulting, Shelly Williams of Access Academies, MK Stallings of Urb Arts.

Fundraising for nonprofits is challenging in and of itself, but raising money for Black-led or Black-serving nonprofits comes with its own set of issues. Access Executive Director Shelly Williams recently addressed those realities as a guest on St. Louis Public Radio’s ‘St. Louis on the Air.’

To help mark #BlackPhilanthropyMonth, Shelly, alongside MK Stallings of Urb Arts and Rachel D’Souza Siebert of Gladiator Consulting, engaged in an honest discussion about the fundraising hurdles that confront local nonprofits serving primarily Black communities. The insightful conversation, led by host Elaine Cha, delved into the factors contributing to the success and sustainability of organizations like Access and those that hinder fundraising efforts.
