Student Update: Access Junior Makes a Difference in South Africa
Principia School junior Imani Miller (St. Louis Catholic Academy ’21) recently embarked on a 19-day trip to South Africa as part of the Simunye Project, a transformative program designed to cultivate leadership skills and character development in students while instilling the belief that they can be catalysts for positive change in the world.
While abroad, Imani’s group spent time learning about the people and their challenges and working with local communities on various projects, including organizing donated clothing, painting kitchens, playing with children, rebuilding playgrounds, and weeding gardens. They also visited a local animal rehabilitation center and enjoyed a game drive.
Access was happy to partially fund the trip through our Boniface Foundation funds, and we can’t wait to hear more about Imani’s experience!
