Academy Students Tour Area Colleges

Research shows that early and consistent exposure to higher education and post-secondary options in middle school results in greater future enrollment. This is why we make college exposure an integral part of our program. So far this academic year, Access middle and high school students have visited four area schools including Blackburn College, Ranken Technical College, Fontbonne University, and Lincoln University in Jefferson City, one of Missouri’s two historically black colleges and universities. Next month, students are slated to tour Saint Louis University. Each visit includes a tour of campus, a presentation by admissions and financial aid, and lunch in the dining hall, as well as a Q&A with students who are currently enrolled. Thank you to the staff, alumni, and student volunteers who made these visits possible.
